i recently learned ttatt and it really sickens me when i sit through the meetings.
i am so tired of faking things.
i feel like vomiting when annoying things are said from the platform.
It seems as tho people are using their "tablets" / "phones" at meetings now, right?
Perhaps you have a desire to learn something? a hobby? Can you take a college class, then study for it at the meetings?
That way you will kill two birds with one stone.
People see you at the meeting, but you are accomplishing things, feeling good about the time spent in your life.
It seems that is the pattern.. unless someone has been effected personally, then there is a chance of the beginning of a "hearing ear."
"Why don't you go to the meetings" sums it all up....
If you go to the meetings you can lie, cheat, steal, get drunk, party on, be a pedophile, and all is well...

and as we consider these commands of god, it is not just blind obedience that is required but, rather, seeking with 'our whole mind and heart' to understand and appreciate why god tells us to do this or that, or not to do a certain thing, so that we may serve him with understanding.

so last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.
she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.
what do i do?!!!!!.

Do not go to an elder's meeting. You will not have reasoning, you will not have justice, you will not have "concern for your spirituality, you will not have things "Jehovah's way" the "way it is suppose to be... as told in the WT" you will only have the result of what three little men think... and it is random.
I had done nothing wrong, someone had a wild hair, I got called in the back room...
I ended up crying, wanting to go under the table, unable to escape, with the head honcho yelling at me "Look at me, look at me, look at me!".. I had nightmares waking up at 2 am in the morning for over a year. (Oh yeah, and because I cried so loudly for so long, I got "marked"... I embarrassed them, so I wasn't 'showing respect for the glorious ones.' Oh yeah, they didn't even TELL me they were going to mark me, I had no idea until I showed up at the next Tuesday meeting, and heard a talk... about ME!) Give them no power over you, give them none of your life.
Do as the others have said, laugh, look at them weird and say, "What?!? Are you kidding me?" laugh, walk away... whatever... just don't explain, and don't go.
Pleeeease, do yourself a favor, do not go. Learn from the hard earned experiences of others.
